With the efforts of President Ming Zhang and Council member Dr. Lizhen Wang, the WACBE life membership has past the century mark this year.
The Distinguished Webinar working group, especially Drs. Ed Guo and Bingmei Fu, continued in 2021 with an outstanding slate of speakers
including Drs. Kam Leong, Yubo Fan, Mian Long, Zhi-Pei Liang, Hongwei Ouyang, and Rong Gan. If you missed any of the distinguished webinars they were recorded and can be found on YouTube (https://tinyurl.com/WACBEWeb).
WACBE has also created a WACBE Young Scholars Committee consisting of life members who hold a faculty position and are younger than 45 years old. The committee’s mission is 1) to create a link between WACBE and BME departments/schools/faculties/institutes, 2) to promote WACBE to young BME researchers over the world and to recruit WACBE young members, and 3) to organize activities, such as conferences, symposia, workshops and seminars. So far, there are 53 members from universities in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the U.S. Congratulations!
