On September 14, 2019, a few close friends and family gathered at Dr. Fung’s home to celebrate his 100th birthday. It was a truly wonderful occasion. As you can see, Dr. Fung was very happy and enjoyed celebrating with friends! He really looks great!
The 1st International Conference on Biomechanics and Medical Engineering (ICBME-2019) – Yuan-Cheng Fung 100th Birthday Celebration was held in San Diego, California on September 20-23, 2019. Dr. Shu Chien, Honorary Chair, along with Co-Chairs, Drs. Andrew McCullough, Jay Humphrey, Roger Kamm and Dalin Tang, organized an outstanding event to honor Dr. Fung’s 100th Birthday. About 120 scholars attended the ICBME-2019, many were students of Dr. Fung’s.
A birthday celebration reception on the campus of the University of California, San Diego was the highlight of the conference. Many participants had the opportunity to present gifts and personally extend wishes to Dr. Fung on this milestone event.
