Zhejiang University (ZJU) has been collaborating with ASIAM Institute since 2015. Under the leadership of Professor Hongwei Ouyang, the Dr.
Li Dak Sum & Yip Yio Chin Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine has benefited from the guidance and support of ASIAM Institute. Dr. Woo is the Chair of the External Scientific Advisory Board that meets yearly in Hangzhou, China to review the progress of the School of Biomedical Engineering.
ZJU has graduated 40 outstanding Ph.D. students who have become post-doc fellows or full- time researchers in their center and 21 have continued to new academic career positions. They have published more than 250 papers in high-level journals related to the fields of stem cells, biomaterials, tissue engineering, etc. in the past 6 years and have won many national and international awards such as the First Prize of Technological Invention from the Ministry of Education, PRC, Excellence in Cartilage Research from the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS) and Best Student Paper from the International Symposium on Ligaments and Tendons (ISL&T).
