The 9th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering was hosted by Dr. Jaw-Lin Wang at the National Taiwan University on August 16-19, 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan. About 400 attendees from all over the world enjoyed listening and learning from presentations by biomedical engineers. The meeting focused on ways biomedical engineering approaches drive innovation technologies and provides solutions that impact the quality of life for patients.
Drs. Woo, Kirk Shung, Zhi-Pei Liang, Zong-Ming Li and Jeff Wang all participated in the session “Meet the Masters”. These senior researchers with different expertise and backgrounds discussed research interests as well as potential career paths with young scholars.
The Savio L-Y. Woo Distinguished Lecture was presented by Dr. Abraham Lee, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Lee’s lecture was entitled “Precision Medicine – Microfluidic Processing the Minimal Representative Unit of Life”.
