Recipient of a Travel Grant to attend the International Symposium on Ligaments and Tendons (ISL&T)-XI
I had the opportunity to attend the International Symposium on Ligaments & Tendons (ISL&T) – XI held at the University of California, Irvine in early January 2011. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Thay Lee, a former student of Dr. Woo, Dr. Ranjan Gupta and their staff. The energy at the meeting was high, adn there was plenty of time for discussion throughout the day.
I was also able to present “Mechanical Augmentation using Sutures to Stimulate Healing of the ACL in the Goat Model” in the session on “Knee ACL” adn it was well received.
Following ISL&T-XI, I was able to attend the Orthopaedic Research Society Annual MEeting in Long Beach, California. This meeting is essential to keeping up on the latest researchin the field of orthopaedics. In addition, this grant gave me an opportunity to spend time with the members of my new research group at the University of Pennsylvania. I would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Woo as well as ASIAM Institute for this opportunity to attend ISL&T and ORS and to continue my education in orthopaedic resarch.
